Audrey Auld - Country music artist from Down UnderDevils are not the only thing to come from Tasmania. Singer-songwriter Audrey Auld’s heart is in Country, Folk and Americana music with a presence as big as The Outback. Her songs are the wry and poignant observations of a Tassie girl living in California and Nashville for the past five years. Audrey calls it “Music with the dirt left on.”

Auld is a memorable and uplifting entertainer. She’s a spontaneous comedienne and a writer of humorous, provocative and soulful songs. A touring songwriter, Audrey won the 2006 MerleFest Song Contest and performed her winning song ‘Losing Faith’ with Rich Brotherton (Robert Earl Keen) on guitar to a thrilled MerleFest crowd.

Darrell McCall - Country MusicDarrell McCall actually began his recording career as a member of the Little Dippers in 1960. Darrell broke away from the group the following year, and by 1963 his sound had evolved into pure country. He sang both traditional country and honky tonk during the ’60s, but eventually became devoted to the dance hall country that has remained popular for decades.

Born in and raised in New Jasper, OH, Darrell began his musical career by landing a slot as a Saturday morning DJ on a local radio station when he was 15 years old. Around the same time, he was playing local dances and events as a musician. Following his high school graduation, he joined the Army, where he was stationed in Kentucky. After his tour of duty was completed, he and his childhood friend Johnny Paychech moved to Nashville in 1958. Darrell and Johnny attempted to record as a duo, but they were unsuccessful. Eventually, Darrell became a studio harmony vocalist, singing on records by Faron Young, George Jones, and Ray Price among others. In a short time, the studio work metamorphosed into road work, as he played bass and sang harmony for several different touring bands, including those of Young, Price, and Hank Williams Jr.

Les Sampou

Les Sampou (pronounced “Less Shampoo w/o the h) writes and sings Americana music that’s full of twang and blues. Her musical career has spanned five recordings and countless listening rooms, bars, and festivals as well as over several hundred thousand miles of road. ‘Lonesomeville’ is the diary. It takes you through lonely hotel rooms, endless highways, and the bedrooms of hard-living lovers. Jonathan Perry of the Boston Globe writes, “Sly, lived-in songs about mismatched lives, hard goodbyes, and honky tonk heartbreak; all of which makes Lonesomeville not such a bad place to be after all, especially if she’s playing there.”
